fall arrest safety deviceThe Sky Lock is a fall arrest safety device that detects over-speed. The Sky Lock, available for 8 mm, 9 mm and 10.2 mm steel wire ropes, is used in combination with Sky Climber hoists and acts on the secondary safety rope. It acts as a safety brake in emergency situations : breaking of a suspension rope or failure of hoist or motor. The Sky Lock can be mounted on the hoist or on the end - or walk through stirrup.
mechanical anti-tilting and slack rope detection device
The Sky Grip (CE-approved) 8 – 9 – 10.2 mm is a breakthrough in the field of safety brake devices as it not only senses slack rope, but also functions as a mechanical anti-tilting device. The Sky Grip automatically resets after it has been activated and brought in operation again.
Installed on a platform with two hoists, the Sky Grip covers the risk of failure of the suspension rope, no load condition of the suspension rope and an inclination of the platform of more than 12 degrees.
The Sky Grip fall arrest safety device is fully compatible with the entire range of existing Sky Climber® rigging hoists and is always mounted on top of the hoist.
The Sky Grip grips on the secondary rope in case of the following conditions:
prohibits inclinations of the platformAs an option an anti-tilting device prohibits inclinations of the platform. The inclinations caused by the motor of the hoist in normal working conditions. An anti-tilting device, when triggered, shall on lifting, stop the upper hoist and wait until the lower hoist is at level before proceeding lifting. On lowering, the lowest hoist will stop and wait for the upper hoist to be at level before proceeding any further. The electronic anti-tilting device is always located inside the CCB (Central Control Box). It can therefore only be used on a platform with min. 2 hoists and a CCB.
to be mounted onto the Sky Lock/Sky GripA Top Limit/ Ultimate Top Limit safety device is mounted onto the Sky Lock/Sky Grip and will prevent the platform from touching the ceiling or suspension points. When touching the striker plates (mounted onto the steel wire rope) the activation of the Top Limit/Ultimate Top Limit will stop the hoist from going up.
overload/underload detectionAs an option a mechanical overload/underload detection is mounted onto the end stirrup or walk-through stirrup. An overload detection is required by the EN1808 and CE-norms.
a new generation of electronic overload protection.
On temporary installations this safety device is mounted inside the hoist and is preset at the hoist maximal working load. However it is possible to lower the max. working load detection just by programming the new load into the electronic overload device.On permanent installations the SKY OL is mounted inside the central control box.
safety devices for air powered hoistsOn pneumatic systems a pneumatic Top Limit can be mounted onto the Sky Grip/Sky Lock and an overload/underload safety device can be mounted onto the end stirrup or walk-through stirrup.
